[Picture] <NO STEALING!Personality:
Tansypaw is an average sized she cat with a medium length pelt. She is slim in LeafBare when there is little prey, and a bit on the chubby side in GreenLeaf when there is an abundance of prey. Her fur changes from orange to yellow in certain areas, but it is a gradual change, and looks like a blur. She looks like the floor of a woods, with light streaming onto it. The pelt is sleek like most tortoishells and although it is medium length, it lays flat against her body and gives her a wet look.
She has bright golden eyes that have hazel/green flecks in it. They do not change color, but they do seem to sparkle like gold in the sunlight. The area around her eyes has orangey-yellow splashes, like the rest of her body, but there is one "splash" that looks like a scar. Of course it isn't, seen as she never fought with anybody. Right in the middle of her head, Tansypaw has a bright orange streak about the size of a claw.
Tansypaw has a jet black nose, but as she gets older, it seems to get light orange spots on it. Her whiskers are all black, like her nose, except for one whisker which is snowy white. The tips of her whiskers are curled in little ringlets from catching them in a crevice while organizing herbs. As new whiskers grow in and replace the old ones, they disappear. Currently she has 2 whiskers with the kinky ends. Her ears are very similarily patterened. They are black but have orange on certain spots.
The most interesting part about the young apprentice-besides her pelt, is her tail. Some say it is completely black, but in certain light you can make out faint tabby stripes. They are most visible in direct sunlight.
Unlike most tortoiseshells, Tansypaw does not have white paws. Instead, they are black with the same markings as the rest of her body. Only one paw is a solid color, black.
Tansypaw is normally mild tempered but if you give her a reason to be mad, back off. She takes a while to cool down and when she does she becomes quiet and keeps to herself for some time. Her temper is an effect from being orphaned at an early age. She absolutely hates being thought of as "defenseless" because she is a medicine cat apprentice. A couple of times she has actually thought about proving herself, but didn't want to face the consequences and decided against it.History:
Unlike most of her clan mates, she enjoys swimming. Gathering watercrest and other water thriving plants is her favorite thing to do since she gets to go wading. Running is another activity that Tansypaw enjoys and gets to practice often. When alone, she will most likely be found running to the Lakeshore or swimming in the lake. Climbing is not one of her strengths and keeps to the ground.
Since she is not as practiced in fighting, Tansypaw relies on agility and quick thinking to get her out of tough situations. Although, she has only had to use this technique once.
When confined to camp, Tansypaw enjoys sneaking around camp and visiting the kits. Stealth is another of her strenghts and she enjoys playing tricks on her friends.
BirthIC:
Tansykit was born to a tortoiseshell she cat and a brown tabby tom. Their names were Dappledpelt and Shadowstripe. According to the elders, the two cats were friends and always were together. Everybody assumed that they would be mates and lead a long happy life. Only part of that was true. They were mates, but after the first litter, Shadowstripe left. Soon after, Dappledpelt died from greencough. There were 3 kits in their litter, but only Tansykit survived the outbreak. Nobody knows the reasoning behind there naming, because their names didn't reflect their personalities or appearance.
Kithood
Tansykit was given to a foster mother, named Iceflower who took her in as one of her own. In fact, that is what Tansykit had always thought. She was raised with Iceflower's litter and treated just like them. When it was time for their apprentice ceremony, they went together.
Apprenticeship
Tansykit became known as Tansypaw and was assigned to a black tom named Darkpelt. It was about one human week after the ceremony when badgers attacked the camp. Iceflower's litter died in the raid and that was when Tansypaw was told about her mother. She was so overwhelmed that she stayed in the apprentice's den for days without food or water. Eventually somebody told the medicine cat and she came to help. Because of what the medicine cat did for Tansypaw, she felt as if she would contribute to the clan better if she became Rainfall's apprentice. From that day on, she became as Tansypaw, the medicine cat apprentice.
How dusty! Tansypaw thought as she moved the bundle of bird feathers over the stone shelves to dust them. She turned around to see how much she had accomplished since sunhigh and frowned. Half of the den was clean, but the other half was full of rotten berries and rat dirt. Gritting her teeth, she set to work on the mess on the floor.
She wrinkled her nose, as it picked up another sour smell. In the corner of the den lay a half eaten vole, and a bundle of wrotten juniper. When she peered at the herbs, she was happy to find that most of them were still fresh, even though they were out of order. Gently picking out the bad petals of marigold, she pushed them into a neat pile and put the dead flowers into the pile with the vole. Soon Rainfall would come back and evaluate the stashes of herbs. I'd better hurry up. Tansypaw said to herself.
