A black shape moved among the shadows of the night, almost as if it was a shadow. A pretty, slender jet black she cat with glowing green eyes came out of the darkness, walking with pride. On her pelt were many scars of battles past, which intimidated many cats. She sat down by the river, and listened.
With her eyes closed, she curled her tail around her paws. A shiver ran down her spine when she thought about a fight that happened here. A fight where someone very dear to her was lost. She sat back and the memories flooded back into her.
A black apprentice sat beside the river, and bent down to take a sip. She scented a unfamiliar scent and her head shot up. RiverClan. On ShadowClan territory. How dare they!? She yowled to herself and unsheathed her claws. A patrol came out of the bushes on the other side, just as a young apprentice came out of the weeds on ShadowClan side. The black apprentice yowled of battle and attacked the younger apprentice. She felt claws digging into her fur as the patrol came to the young apprentice's rescue.Then she smelled more ShadowClan and smiled deviously to herself."Blackpaw!" a tom called her name and a ShadowClan patrol leaped onto the scene. The tom was her brother, Demonclaw. He ran toward her, and a silver apprentice tackled him. As they fought, Blackpaw fought with two RiverClan warriors until they fled from ShadowClan territory. Soon all the RiverClan warriors were gone. But there was a misery feeling among the ShadowClan warriors. Demonclaw was dead.The silver apprentice had killed him.
Blackflower's eyes shot open, filled with hatered towards one cat.
