Dusk laid in the sky. The sun was fighting to stay up, but darkness was creeping over it like ink split on paper. The fresh sent of leaf green played in the air, the breeze caring it through the thick pine trees as they swayed along with it. In the far distance, a lake lapped against the shore to remind the land it was still there. Birds were silencing for the night all through the mighty pines as owls and hawks came out to hunt. Stars were slowly coming out into the sky to give some light no the night life with the help of the moon, who was still fighting down the sun. As the moon started to rise, it shined on the pelt of a creature. It was a cat siting on a high branched. The tom stretched, and as it did, the mussels beneath is gray and wolf like pelt rippled. For several seconds, great white claws scratched at the bark of the tree. The tom yawned, revealing large, white and silvery fangs that dripped with spit. His bright yellow eyes scanned the ground below. Several other cats lazed in the moonlight, their pelts dancing in the wind. Most of the other cats were sleeping in one of the thickets of brambles off to the side. The big gray tom stood up, still looking down at the other cats. He had thought long and hard, but Wolfstar had decided. ThunderClan was getting thingyy, and they needed to be put back into line. the thought of ThunderClan made Wolfstar's pelt crawl. They were all half blood and kittypets. ThunderClan was not the great Clan it once was. He wouldn't even call it a Clan, for it was more like a group of stray, mangy, flea covered cats who had no where else to go. Wolfstar had decide the only why to remind them that ShadowClan was top cat was a raid on them. He would send several warriors into their camp to attack them and steal what ever they could while two or three warriors hunted on their territory. What ever warriors were left would press the boundaries. He had planed everything carefully, down to the last detail. Wolfstar smirked at the sky. Darkness was creeping fast, and he had little time to prepare everyone before Moonhigh came. "All cats old enough to catch their own prey, gather here now for a Clan meeting!" his loud and booming voice echoed through the camp, stirring cats from their sleep. Several came over straight away while others took their time, but he did not have time to spare on those who were hunting in their dreams. Without waiting for all to come, he continued, but kept his voice loud and clear for those lagging behind. Clearing his voice, he continued, "As you are all aware of, ThunderClan has placed one too many claws out of line! Letting kittypets and half bloods into the forest! Would StarClan approve? No! We must throw them back into their place!" He paused for a minute for his words to sink into the cats beneath him. His heart was beating with excitement and his great black paws burned to get going. He took a deep breath before continuing. The plan is this! I will lead a group of warriors into ThunderClan camp. First, we will kill the guards outside the camp before they can even make a sound, but if we do, then the plan is ruined. We silently walk in and steal as much prey from their pile that two warrior can carry. The rest of us will give them all a little wake up call. While they are still confused and half asleep, we flee, but not without leaving them something to remind us of. While doing this, a few apprentices will be hunting everything they can in their territory with one warrior. Kill anyone you see. I will have Barkfur, an apprentice, and a warrior, press the boundaries between us and ThunderClan. One warrior, queens, and elders will stay behind. Barkfur! Organize them! We go kittypet hunting at Moonhigh!" Wolfstar flicked his tail showing them that was all and leaped down, off of High Branch as he began to bark out orders.

No. In the name of what StarClan stands for, no. Even as the deputy took his place beside the meeting area, standing below his leader and to the right, every inch of his morel fiber screamed in alarm. He tried his best to hide it, but panic was quickly flooding his eyes. Looking around at the assembled cats, he couldn't help but let his thoughts leave the meeting as they spun out of control. This was wrong, he knew that fully. For one, everything Wolfstar was planning was in violation to the Warrior Code at some stretch. Invading another Clan's territory. Killing. And not just that, he was being down-right hypocritical. Barkfur couldn't help but feel his paws tremble. Declaring war on another Clan because of their heritage was like declaring war on ShadowClan. Wasn't the leader aware of how many cats formed below his paws where of mixed blood? While the brown tabby agreed that to take in non-Clanborn cats was a disgrace, he couldn't condemn an entire Clan if the cats who were fighting for him shared the same dirty blood as their enemy. He suddenly felt very alone as he stood in his place of honor. Where was she? His eyes darted across the cats, searching for the face he grew to hold dear. The face flecked with black, white, and beige. The face that held his heart in it's odd eyes. His tail flicked in delight as he locked onto her with a gentle gaze he rarely showed. It was at that time, that the deputy let his guard down, watching her with keen interest. What would she think to this? Being the medicine cat, she was sworn to peace. Would she join in and fight with the rest of them? Even though Barkfur knew their devotion was against the Code, the tom couldn't help but worry for her safety. If Wolfstar truly planned to push this fight, it would be a matter of time before ThunderClan retaliated. Didn't his leader understand the consequences of what he was shouting? Surely he hadn't gone mad. With a start, the cat realized he was being spoken to. Before he could stop himself, he blurted out, "yes Wolfstar." Silently cursing himself, his hackles rose as he watched Wolfstar pad around giving orders to a few warriors and apprentices that gathered near him. Barkfur was left alone, with the remaining cats peering at him with the same feeling of dread; their eyes wide with disbelief. With effort, he pulled himself up and strode forward with a heavy heart. Though he had some idea about the plan, Wolfstar had left out many details that nagged at him. Did the grey leader not trust Barkfur enough to shed light before the meeting? Twitching his ear in annoyance, he called out to the remaining cats. "Phantomshadow! You and Darkpaw will be with me. You lot heard Wolfstar; queens get back to the nursery. Fortify the wall best you can and keep alert. Elders, back to your den, please." He heard Wolfstar call some warriors to himself. With another longing glance at the medicine cat's den, his hearted pined. Still looking in that direction, he spoke quickly. "Blackflower," he yowled, turning back to the cats. "You will remain here to keep guard." A quick thought pushed him and without waiting for Wolfstar's permission, he yelled out his final command. "Whitepaw, you will also remain. If ThunderClan press the attack, you are to race as fast as your legs will carry you. Alert us so we can return before tragedy strikes." He watched as Wolfstar finished the assembly; the warriors and apprentices stood nearby waiting for Moonhigh. StarClan, forgive what we're about to do, and give Wolfstar the sense to see that this is wrong.Status: Complete. ((I DO hope every ShadowClan cat reads this...))

[/i] She thought. Though Wolfeye had a bad temper, she made a good Medicine cat... However she hadn't plans on staying in the ShadowClan. She felt a ting a pain as she looked up toward Wolfstar. She remembered seeing Littlecloud, an old ShadowClan Medicine cat in her dreams. She had told him, that she no longer wanted the path of a Medicine Cat. Her tail lashed the ground. She remembered the words of the other cats, that it was her choice to follow whatever path her heart wanted. This wasn't the one she felt was right. Her heart ached as she glanced at Barkfur. She could tell in his eyes, he didn't want to do this... However he cound not go against the leader. She let out a louder. hiss. "Wolfstar, you fool!" She suddenly yowled and jumped up. "Is what ThunderClan doing really any of our business?" She hissed and lashed forward. Lowering her head as her fur bristled. "Should it matter if a cat is Clanborn or not? No, you are mousebrained to do this!" She glanced at the member. Hissing her tail still lashed around. Her claws dug into the ground as her eyes shifted to Wolfstar. She turned around and slowly padded toward the exit. "Wolfstar... I will no longer be your Medicine Cat... It is not the path I want... The path I want has no place here. Not with a foxdung of a leader..." Insults. She glanced up. "Forgive me StarClan! Being a Medicine Cat is not what I want!" She yowled upwards and nodded an apology toward Spiderpaw. The Calico sharply turned around. "If anyone does object.... Then you should leave now..." She figured that none would as she padded out of the camp mumbling to herself. "No longer Shadow... Now a Rouge..." She hissed, her tail up. She left with her pride.[/ul][/size]

Darkpaw's ears pricked slightly when she heard Barkfur say her name. She had wandered out into the clearing, each step tired and wavering from her lack of sleep. All that she heard of Wolfstar's announcement was a few yowls of discontent and a little bit of angry mews. It was just like her to not listen. But when she heard her name and the name of her mentor she perked up a little. She hopped back onto her paws and looked in the direction of her mentor, waiting for him to follow him or something. She wasn't big on the whole idea. She shook her pelt and her eyes gleamed. Finally, she had a chance to actually do something. Being an apprentice was boring...all she ever got to do was listen to some old cat tell her how to do things. And, quite frankly, that wasn't in her agenda. She wanted more than just practice--and now she would have that chance! As long as she was doing something, whether it was for her Clan or not--she would be happy. But wait. Some tattered old medicine cat began to speak. Again, the words went in one ear and out the other, but she still had an idea of what was going on. Oh, what was her name? Darkpaw thought to herself as she watched the scene. Wolf-something, I believe. Who really cares. But anyway, what and why was she talking that way to her leader? she snorted with disgust. Even she knew that you can't talk to your leader--or any leader for that matter--like that! Hey, she's still smart-mouthing Wolfstar. Darkpaw thingyed her head to the side. Now what is she doing? Walking away? That crazy... And then, a small brown warrior stood up. Darkpaw smiled at the ungainly appearance of the she-cat, who wore an uncertain look on her face. What has she got to say? she continued to think to herself as she sat back down. *** Cedarfrost was in trouble. She usually didn't get up like this, but unfortunately it was more of a gut reaction, with no real logical thinking involved. Her eyes darted across the clearing, giving away her uncomfort. Her green eyes shined with regret as she took a deep breath and stepped forward. "I...I agree with Wolfeye!" she managed to spit out, then felt a little bit better. Her eyes gave away a little more confidence as she continued to speak. "There are so many cats here, and in all of the Clans that have mixed blood, or are not of ShadowClan decent at all. I did not come of ShadowClan blood." she meowed, then cleared her throat and spoke with a little more passion. "Look at everyone around you. If not you yourself, somebody you are sitting close to does not have pure, full ShadowClan blood. But I ask you this: Does that make them any less loyal? Everyone here is loyal to ShadowClan and ShadowClan alone, and that is why they are here. If they are not, they do not belong. But you cannot tell someone who has been in ShadowClan--or any other Clan--for a long time and has proven their loyalty that they do not belong because of their blood." She meowed, a little more sure of herself. But she looked around the clearing and began to stutter a little. "Just because somebody was born in a different Clan, or no Clan, does not mean that they are of any less value than the next cat. If we are to attack another Clan, it should not be because of their blood. Because all in all, we share the same dirty blood as the rest of them, and attacking them for that would be like attacking the ones we love. You cannot judge someone like that!" Cedarfrost meowed.

Wolfstar watched as Wolfeye left. He had always known she had never wanted to stay, and he was fine with that. The thought of what he was going to do without a medicine failed to come into his mind at the time. Wolfstar looked down at what he thought was his Clan, and saw, that he had no control over them, they had no respect for them, they felt nothing but hatred for him. He hung his head, and knew that he had to call it off, call it all off. Leaping onto High Branch once again, and before he could speak, Cedarfrost spoke. Listening to the young she-cat made Wolfstar sure that he had to call it off. as she finished speaking, he felt rage at being reminded of the blood in his Clan. He looked at them, with his golden eyes hard, cold, and something else stirred behind those emotions, but he tried to push it away without too much success; sadness. He stood there on High Branch and yowled, " Fine, if you do not want to do this, then cancel it all. I just didn't think I'd have to remind you of what they did to Blackfrost, but I'm sure you're all just going to point out that it was his own fault. I just thought that since they killed you're own Clan mate, you'd like to remind them not to mess with ShadowClan, but it's your choice. If you disagree with me this much, then fine, the raid is off. Go back to sleep or whatever it was you were doing. Patrols in the morning." He flicked his tail to show this meeting was over for good. He leaped off of High Branch and walked out of the tunnel without a word. Through the pines he walked, sadness hitting his heart. His Clan didn't want him as leader any more. They thought he was fool. He should just leave and make Barkfur leader, that'd shut all of them up. He looked at the darkened sky, and saw stars dancing in the inky wonder, and moon in the middle of it all. "Darkstar," Wolfstar whispered to the sky, softly and desperately, "ShadowClan is no longer the Clan I grew up knowing. This is not the Clan you once led. I'm sorry that I have made it this way. I've ruined the Clan you worked so hard to build. I'm sorry...father."

Darkpaw snickered almost, finally listening in on what they brown she cat was saying, laughing silently to herself at the uncertainty in her voice, in her eyes--so weak, trembling under pressure, unable to speak her mind without a doubt. But then something caught Darkpaw off guard. Her smile faded as she realized that it really was her. Except, Darkpaw had never gotten up and spoke her mind. Time and time again she had laughed to herself, thought things to herself but had never even realized that if she had any courage or faith in herself that she could be one of them. Wolfeye and Cedarfrost had gotten up and spoken their minds. Sure, they may have been a little uncertain or nervous, and Cedarfrost definitely showed a little lack of faith in herself, but they still spoke their mind. And Darkpaw had never done something of such proportion; instead, she had mocked them quietly to herself. And all the while, she had never been corageous enough to step forward.
And with that, Wolfstar had called off the whole raid! How... she started to think to herself, in her usual mocking way, but she stopped. Shifting her paws uncomfortably, she looked with almost a hint of sadness in her cold metal eyes as she watched her leader walk off. Her face took the form of resentment almost, and for the first time she actually felt bad for someone. Looking around the clearing, she watched the other cats and their unwillingness to listen to their leader, and in them she saw herself also. She was always the difficult one, the one nobody wanted to deal with because everything others told her went right over her head. Earlier during Wolfstar's announcement she herself had not listened to the words he spoke, and at this she felt resentment again; this time towards herself.
Her right eye twitched as it does occasionally as her chest drew in air more slowly, and her pelt glimmered with a dull sheen in the available light. She quickly looked at the ground and then, against her better judgement, stood up slowly and slunk away silently towards the same tunnel that her leader did, moving carefully so that she would not be spotted. When she could see him, her mind danced with the horrifying punishments she might have to serve, and on top of that Wolfstar was still upset about the mixed blood, which didn't put her in an any better situation. But this time, she would be brave. "W-W-Wolfstar?" she managed to say.

Wolfstar had already heard the foot steps of an apprentice before the voice of Darkpaw hit his ears. "Hello Darkpaw," Wolfstar said softly. He looked at Silverpelt, and not knowing why, he said, "Phantomshadow hasn't taught you about Silverpelt, has he? Silverpelt, as most cats say, is not just a bunch of stars. They are they great cats of the past, weather they be brave leaders dying for their Clans, or the noble elders who died in their sleep. It's their paws steps that light the sky, as they watch over us. Never forget that."He turned to Darkpaw. The name burned a hole in his heart, for he knew Darkstar walked in that sky above him, ashamed of his only kin, Wolfstar. His heart felt guilty as the thought of what has happened to ShadowClan burned in his head. His ears wanted to lay back and his tail wanted to curl around him, but he did not let them in front of Darkpaw. He could not seem weak in front of anyone anymore. He sat and waited for the apprentice to speak, wich he showed that was what he was waiting for with a flick of his tail.

"To be honest--" Darkpaw began to say, but then a surprised, confused expression appeared on her face. She had never been... honest with anyone. Quickly she shook herself and the expression faded. "It's hard to learn things from Phantomshadow. He reminds me of my dad too much, but I've never said anything before." she murmured, turning her head to the side. "And right now, I'm not too sure of what I can believe. I've never really looked into the stars before. Not thinking that they're more than just stars that shed light on the forest at night." she finished, then realized that she hadn't come here to talk to Wolfstar about her mentor and what she believed in.
"Wolfstar, I'm sorry about the raid. But...I support you! I'm glad that you're ShadowClan's leader. I don't know why it felt so important to me to follow you out here, but I want you to know that I want to be the bravest, most loyal ShadowClan warrior ever!" Darkpaw meowed, putting on her innocent face. It had become such an instinct...the way she put on different faces for everyone she dealt with. And at that moment it became annoying to her. Her expression suddenly turned to a look of disgust, as if she had caught the scent of something nasty. It would be very amusing to anyone looking at her.

[/i] We are ShadowClan for StarClan's sake! ThunderClan are a bunch of whining kittypets, and we need to put them in their rightful place, below ShadowClan!"[/b] She yowled out, head raised proudly. She wasn't going to loll around like her mousebrained brother, she was a true ShadowClan cat. "Wolfstar! It is not foolish! Let us go to battle with those miserable pathetic low-lifes!" She cried out in a snide way. Her eyes glittered with malice. She would not stand by and let ThunderClan prance around in all it's glory like this. It was against everything ShadowClan was. Spiderpaw opened his mouth to keep his sister quiet, but was too frightened of her wrath. The medicine cat apprentice turned to his mentor, shock in his wide blue eyes. "W-wolfeye! Don't go! I cna't be a Medicine Cat without you!" He gasped, awestruck. He loved his mentor too much. He didn't want to carry out her responibilities on his own. He was too young. the bright sapphire eyes of Spiderpaw's bore into Wolfeye's. He suddenly seem to have taken it in that she was really leaving, that she wasn't coming back for him the next day. "I-well... Goodbye then." He said in the most brave voice he could muster. Spiderpaw was always told he was so muhc like the good medicine cat Littlecloud. He smiled slightly at this, but then lowered his head to his former mentor, dipping it as a final silent goodbye to her. Taintedpaw veered around and glared at her brother. "Your mentor is a mousebrain to leave ShadowClan! Where will she go? Well she's never been a ShadowClan cat as far as I'm concerned." She sniffed boldly, crimson eyes glittering with hate. She wanted power, she wanted power like Wolfstar had. She wanted to be like him. One day, she wanted to lay seige on the other clans, as Taainted[/i]star[/i]. Another feirce caterwaul rose in her thrtoat. "Come on! Who here isn't bold enough to take on some measly ThunderClan scum?" She howled above the murmers. Now she looked rather senile and insane with fury and excitement.[/ul]

For once, the deputy found the chaos welcoming as the Clan stared at their leader with alarm. Even though they had obeyed his command, waiting in their groups for a signal from the grey cat, it was obvious that many didn't truly want to go through with this. That became blazingly obvious once Taintedpaw's wild calls startled the tabby. Hissing at the apprentice, he turned quickly to see what damage her mouth had caused in Wolfstar's control. But as his eyes searched for the tom, a familiar voice hit him hard. Turning sharply, his eyes widened as Wolfeye gave her speech. With her tail high, she left the camp and Barkfur's heart crushed in his chest. It seemed their forbidden love would be even more difficult to express now that she wouldn't be available to him. How could the deputy escape to see her when his duties called him here? It was obvious that the calico wouldn't remain anywhere near ShadowClan for long, so that meant a trip he didn't want to take every day. Pulling his ears back, the defeated tom sat with his tail unceremoniously flailed out behind him. With the mummers as strong as before, the voice of Cedarfrost didn't upset him. There was no control now that the medicine cat had left her Clan with an apprentice in charge. Even if Wolfstar listened to Taintedpaw and continued with the raid, how could the cats cope when their healer was still in training? It was ridiculous. Wolfstar seemed lost as he disappeared from the camp, and Barkfur's heart tugged again. His poor leader had lost all control and possibly respect from the Clan for his mouse-brained plan. Perhaps he was afraid this would happen from the start; the reason why he didn't share it in detail with his deputy, maybe? Even so, the traumatic loss of his Clan looked like it crushed him. Barkfur called out to the Clan, telling them to calm themselves and continue as they were before the Clan meeting. With a deep sigh, the tom pulled himself off his hind and padded after Wolfstar. Taintedpaw's voice flared up again behind him, and this time he'd had quite enough. Whirling on his heals, the deputy launched himself at the apprentice. He covered the ground quickly in long strides and stood towering over the she-cat with his eyes narrowed. "Enough. So long as you live in this Clan, you will obey your leader with your undivided loyalty. He has called off the raid, so step down and return to your rest." His eyes locked on her, challenging the young cat to speak against him. Frightening apprentices wasn't on his list of priorities, but he couldn't stand by and watch a Clan-mate rebel against his leader. His ear twitched and he suddenly remembered Spiderpaw. Turning away from the she-cat without another word to her, he trotted up to the young cat. "Spiderpaw, how much has Wolfeye taught you?" The tabby longed to comfort his leader, but Wolfstar would have to wait. To his relief, he noticed Darkpaw scurry after the leader. At least the dejected cat wouldn't have to be alone. Status: Complete.

[/i] are the ones showing disloyalty to Wolfstar's decisions. I am supporting him with undivided loyalties. I think all he says is right, it's what must be done."[/b] She hissed bodly, staring recklessly into the eyes of her deputy. "What? You gonna claw my ears for this? I'm just an apprentice." She added in a jeering voice. Spiderpaw glanced at his sister, giving her a warning look before glancing at the deputy. He didn't really care that his sister was getting chewed out, he cared that Wolfeye, his mentor was leaving. He looked up at Barkfur, anger pulsing in his veins. "I've only been training for a moon." He replied cooly, staring into the deputy's eyes as his sister had. Taintedpaw merely snorted and ran after Wolfstar to try and convince him the raid was a good idea. Taintedpaw glowered back at the deputy before catching up with the two. "Yeah. C'mon. The raid was a good idea. I think it should be back on. ThunderClan deserves it." She told her leader firmly. Her eyes betrayed no discomfort in talking to her leader in this matter-of-fact tone.[/ul]

Barkfur let her go. He had no quarrels with the young she-cat. Suddenly aware of how much tension still remained in the camp, the deputy raised his head and yowled at them. Anger flitted in his call, but only slightly. Turning back to the apprentice, his voice caught in his throat. Only a moon. One moon's training and now the Clan would rely on the young tom for skills he couldn't possibly have acquired in such a short time. While he loved her, the tabby felt rage bubbling up inside him against her. He vowed that when he caught up with that calico, she'd hear what he had to say. Like it or not. The cat still stood in front of him, and he felt uneasy. With Taintedpaw irritated at him, and the cold stare of young Spiderpaw, the deputy felt nervous. Around the elders and even rogues, he was fine. Steady and strong, able to call order with a single growl. But to the younger cats who's innocence clouded their judgment with misplaced insolence, he was at a loss. Swishing his tail from side to side, his aggravation was clear on his raised fur. Not toward young Spiderpaw, but at himself. For now, all the unsure tabby could do was nod once to the apprentice and turn away. He didn't go to follow his leader. He should have, but he couldn't. He had to see Wolfeye. Again, his leader would have to wait. Besides, with the camp slowing back into it's usual night agenda, he wasn't really needed here. Wolfstar had both Taintedpaw and Darkpaw with him, he didn't need his deputy at this time. After all, what could he say that wasn't already being shared to him? Status: Complete.

Shadowcreeper walked around, by the other groups of cats. His eyes seemed hollow, gazing at nothing. The sun was bright, shining down on hiw gray pelt, making it glitter around. The black mask around his eyes, seemed to turn to silk, only returning to pelt, when a cloud blocked the sun. This is how it always was for him. He just sat there, quiet to himself, while the other warriors scrambled around, just having fun.
Shadowcreeper did'nt seem to mind though. The blue eyed warrior just let it go, like he almost did'nt want to run around with butterflys. His ears quickley perked up, as he heard a large rustleing, only to see behind him some warriors argueing over whos a real ShadowClanner. Again he just sighed, and walked a liattle closer to the arguement, keeping quietley to himself. He never really found out if he was from ShadowClan, or not. So he just let the breeze flow by him, without a sound.

Forestpaw was not sure what she wanted. She was not full Shadowclan herself, but she was a loyal Shadowclan apprentice. Her training would end in a few moons and she would become a full warrior, how could she tell her leader anything without jeopardizing her warrior's ceremony. It was her job to obey her leader and mentor but how could she do anything without showing disloyalty to her clan or herself and older brother. Her heart was being torn and her mind was arguing with herself. One part of herself said to object for herself pride, but the other said stay quiet and save herself from having her warrior's ceremony delayed. Forestpaw couldn't decide what to do so she sided with her loyal side and stayed quiet.
Her mind was a difficult place to be so she changed her thoughts. How could she just stay in her mind when her clan's medicine cat and left the clan. She didn't want to end up never having a warrior's ceremony but how could her clan fight without a medicine cat. She had been zoned out for so long she didn't know if they were going to attack Thunderclan or not. She would just wait and actually listen to the rest of the meeting. Her fur tingled at the thought of getting hurt and then padded, or limping to the medicine cat's den and finding the medicine cat was the apprentice and then not getting the treatment she needed. How could Wolfstar let this happen, how could Starclan let this happen. She felt her eyes welling up with tear but quickly blinked them back and let them dry. Her clan the clan she loved was falling apart all in one meeting. Forestpaw felt her legs wobble. What would happen to Shadowclan now.
